Doug’s previous positions include: CEO of Interbrand Africa, Vice Chairman for WPP’s Superunion Africa and Snr Vice President Holderbank (Switzerland – now Holcim). Doug is an Associate Professor of Practice at the Johannesburg Business School, he is an Advisory Director of the New York based International Trademarks Association (INTA) where he co-chairs the special Taskforce on Brand Valuation, he is a Director of the Marketing Association South Africa (MASA), an executive faculty lecturer (Visiting Professor) at Strathmore Business School (Kenya), and previous, an Advisory Director of Henley Business School Africa.

Doug is a Chartered Marketer CM(SA) with over 30-years local & global business & brand experience, has authored multiple papers and, was a contributing author to the book “Doing Business in Africa” (Dianna Games, Penguin).

Doug has convened panels at Harvard Business School’s Africa week and has guest lectured at Oxfords Said Business School, Bentley Business School, Gordon Institute of Business Science, UJ and The Fletcher School of Governance in Boston.
